BLURRY

Sunday, January 01, 2006

It's been so long since i've done any scribbling on rough papers lying around in my room and on this blog. Doodling to express my thoughts. Starting to feel the strain of lack of thoughts processing to fill up e piece of paper. Haiz...

So wat's gg on lately...?
  1. Been gg out with Brenly and Darpan for like one month already. Christmas 2005 was e best and worst one i've had. Celebrated with relatives at Costa Sands Resort at East Coast. Parents wanted to meet close frens in class but when Brenly and Darpan came ard 10, they left le... So anyhow, spent it with them until 0120 coz Brenly had to go for mass and Darpan was gg to a club. Then Brenly came back like ard 0200 and stayed 'til like 0630. E worst came when we were running for shelter and both got drenched. He got fever when he went back but i was ok... Oops! Felt so bad...
  2. Abt to sign my deed with MPA which will concrete 10 odd yrs of my life, within tt time my dad will do his UTMOST to keep all my guy frens on 'platonic' relations with me. But wat e hell?! He can't control me forever.

So... gg outta sea soon... Looking forward but at e same time, kinda scared. Sounds reasonable? Think might be on tanker ba... I mean this DMR senior also from A.P. Moller said tt container and general cargo ships dun really need D/C so it's left with tankers and ro-ro. But ro-ro's mainly for A.P. Moller Maersk, not A.P. Moller Singapore. So it's for e China cadets... Then again, tanker sounds FUN!!!

PARLEZ-VOUS FRANCAIS?

Tuesday, December 06, 2005

9/12/2005
Today in class, as like e previous days of e week, was torture for me. Not in e literal sense thank god! Haha... Wat i mean is tt Brenly borrowed Darpan's phone to msg me. And sia lah... everytime i had to tr my utmost best to not burst out in giggles. Nizam and Eugene could see tt i was grinning loads and Darpan from e corner was saying tt i was blushing like crazy. :D :P

Still, actually supposed to go for a movie with him today but he and a couple of e guys had to do boat maintenance at Poly Marina. So, told him next week after ICA. Then to my delight, he msg when he came to class before Seamanship and asked if i wanna go out today coz he dun need to go to Poly Marina. So, after sch, had to secretly like meet him in e library. Dun like acting liddat sia... Afterwards, took a cab with him (Darpan was teasing us from afar!) back to their hostel coz Brenly's boots were cutting him, then to East Coast Park MacDonald's.

It's hard gg to e beach in uniform! High tide when we were there so after chatting for a while, i asked if he wanna play. So removed our boots and socks and let e waves wet our feets. Haha... I thoroughly enjoy spending time with him and he fascinates me with lotsa stuffs on Nature. E waves were rough at certain times, splashing and soaking our pants. Haha... I assured him tt e mtrl for our pants wouldn't show any stains so after e next few times, we just laughed it off like crazy. Wahahahahaha... This is one thing i like abt him - he rises to e occasion no matter how silly it is!

6/12/2005
Hmph... Today's such a sucky day. Being e only gal in class, there's lotsa commotions over small stuffs. Like Monday for example, i went to lunch with Darpan and Brenly (cute!) at FC 5 then Darpan and i were late for NavSim. When we entered e class together, e guys were like making so much noise. Then on Friday when i did Tarot for Smit at e corner of e class, commotions again! Wat e hell man!

Went out with Brenly and Darpan on Friday (2/12) to East Coast Park where we sat on e beach and opened 1/2 dozen of beer with MacDonald's. I mean it was SO fun. I felt 17. E way my parents brought me up, i think i see now - they brought me up well and 'safely' (as in not a bad gal). But i wonder... Wouldn't it be better if they let me grow up by not keeping me in this cage? Yeah... It's safe but i long for more outside.

I feel suffocated or rather - SMOTHERED.

DNS/FT/1B

Elloz Singapore Maritime Academy!!! Feel DAMN good to be back. Seems like e classroom for DNS/FT/1B/01 and 02 is T1A61. My class 'strength' now is doubled - 14 from China (A.P. Moller Maersk) and 12 from India (NSSPL). No points for guessing, but ya... all guys. No one seems to know what exactly happened to Diana, she's deferred e course so i'm currently e only girl in class among 45 guys! OMFG!!!

Taking Calendar and Astronomy for GEMs and enjoying it. It's just sad tat now there's no more Poly Marina. Haiz... Oh ya, one more GREAT thing. I passed e psychometric test by A.P. Moller Singapore two Fridays ago and guess wat? I'M IN!!! WOOHOO~~~ I'M IN A.P. MOLLER!!! OMFG!!! So can't believe it seh... Like i've NEVER expected tat i'd be in A.P. Moller. Then again, i'm bonded with MPA for 4 yrs after getting any CoC Class i want. Most likely i'm going for Class 2 ba... Class 1, it's hard but if i can then pia lor...

POMP AND POMPOUS

Sunday, October 23, 2005

23/10
Weather was perfect today. Went to Hampstead Heath and sure as hell had a great time there :D Played with the dogs, wander aimlessly and e highlight of e day - i climbed my first tree! Wahaha... But pathetic right? First tree at this age! Still, was kinda apprehensive when i approached e tree. I mean, like i've mentioned below, i have an issue abt heights but surprisingly, i just kept going higher and higher. Falling d/n bother me. Well... maybe just a little. Sat up there for quite a while and i think i know now wat it means to be one with nature :P Ltr, back in town, queued up for more than 1/2 hour for crepes. Had a banana with butterscotch and pecan nuts and OMG!!! It was so damn freakin' GOOD! Worth e wait :P :D

22/10
Went to Warwick Castle today (2 hours drive from central London) and it was quite cool. Climbed e spiral stairways up so many of e towers. Great view but i have a height problem. Haiz... Saw e world's largest trebuchet there too... After tt we went to Stratford-upon-Avon a.k.a. Shakespeare's birthplace. Wow! I went to William Shakespeare's house! Wahaha... E drive back from there was quite scary though. Tonight's e coldest night for me here in UK, but gotta see e autumn nightsky. Pretty nice! Had Thai fried rice with prawns for dinner and damn! It was really delicious :P

21/10
Checked results for semestral exams. Woohoo! Didn't do tt badly or tt well, but i passed and tt's e consolation. When aunty and i were out, we saw a bookshop and aunty bought me this book i wanted Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes for £2 when e original price was £9.99 (had no money on me). Wahaha... Wendy sis called later and asked me to meet her at 6 at Covent Gardens where we went for Japanese ramen before watching a musical at 8. The Rat Pack, is technically e first musical i've watched and it was good. The 3 singers acting as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis jr, and Dean Martin pulled it off so convincinly well. The band was great too, i mean e woodwind musicians could play 3 instruments each - flute/piccolo, saxophone and clarinet! Overall, had such an enjoyable time there. Salut!

18/10
Left home ard noon today and went to e Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology at Euston Square. Got slightly confused over which platform to take. Haha... (Lame! I was just finding an excuse to hang ard longer in e Tube. Love travelling abt in it!) E collection was pretty huge but e embarrassing thing was tt this display was inside e University College of London. And e ppl there were looking at aunty and i 'amusingly' coz e security guard had to open e gate for us to enter their premises. Sheesh! Anyway, i'm here solely because of e Egypt section. They have Egyptology here. Wah...!!! Was starving by e time we were back home. Had Lebanese kebabs for dinner and e waiters there were all good-looking.

16/10
Went to Camden Town Market today and tt place was funky! Haha... Had Vietnamese for lunch and West African for 'dessert' Wahaha... It was delicious!!! But e best part of e day was when we went into this bookshop. I bought 3 (one by Joseph Campbell which Ms. Han recommended) and e other, woohoo!!! £12.99's e original price but e owner sold it to me for only £5. Yippee!!! Hahaha... On e way back home, had a sudden urge to drink Coke... Went down e street but couldn't find a single can. Can you believe it?!?!?!?! Had home-made tempura for dinner. Yum!

15/10
Supposedly wanted to do e Jack the Ripper walk but wasn't in time. Sobs... Went to e National Gallery then to St. Martin's Church and was in time for e Chamber Ensemble rehearsal. First time i'd ever been to a chamber ensemble and it was simply - great. Buckingham Palace next and 'wandered' into St. James's Park. Wow! E place was beautiful with e leaves turning yellow and e sun was just right. Just one of those moments when e world seems 'peaceful' :p

14/10
Read The Loop by Nicholas Evans 'til noon then had lunch (Belgian!) at Oxford Circus with aunt and Wendy sis. Went to an Italian bistro for tea and had toffee eclair, which was SOOOO damn good!!!

13/10
Woke up late today and left e house with aunty and reached Victoria and Albert Museum at South Kensington ard noon after getting slightly confused over e Circle Line and e District Line. E museum was cool! I liked e Medieval Period best! E columns and all... Whoa! Spectacular! Then, we went south to Pimlico to Tate Britain and e Turner (currently my favourite artist) collection there was awesome! London, to me, seems to be filled with museums and markets... not complaining though coz i like both of it! E markets are WAY cooler than wat we have back home! Dun even get me started on e food sold there. My god! YUMMY!!! E sticky toffee pudding which Wendy sis prepared last night was sinfully delicious! Haha... Gtg le... Having dinner now :p

11/10
Went solo today. Well, not really solo, i was with aunty but e thing was we went ard London ON OUR OWN. Whoa! Haha... It was fun taking e Tube. I loved it! Went to e British Museum along Great Russell Square and my god! It's obvious why it's one of best museums in e world. The place was freakin' colosseum with so many erm... passages to go. Spent ard 3 1/2 hrs but we only covered e Egypt, Asia, and some of e Islam and Greek and Rome section. E best part was tt i gotta touch e Rosetta stone! Haha... E replica lah... After tt, we crossed e Millennium Bridge along River Thames and walked to Book Market where i bought 3 books outta which, 2 were TREASURES - Utopia by Thomas Moore and Poems and Prose by Christina Rossetti (my favourite poet) . Woohoo!!! I've finally found a compilation by Christina Georgina Rossetti. I practically screamed (smthg liddat) when i saw e CGR book :D

8/10
Hi world from London... would forget abt posting any stuffs if not for Puvan's umpteenTH reminder. -.-'''

Anyway, been here in London for a week le... Having fun eating!!! :D E fish 'n' chips is like 2-3 (better believe it!) times what we have in Singapore, e German sausage is mouthwatering, e chocolate donut is omigod heavenly! Also, e custard which i had in this French cafe when i arrived tt day is like sinfully delicious! :D

P.S. E French/Portugese waiter is SO cute ;P :D

Aside from all e food, i've been walking so much daily, like a few hours sia... Like today we went on e River Thames, and after alighting at Greenwich Pier, we went to e Greenwich Meridian ('e center of all time and space' to quote e guide). Hahaha... It felt good to be actually there after learning abt it in sch. Then, my aunt and cousin left me to wander ard e... National Maritime Museum. Oh man!!! Tat place was really cool!

So wat 'first time-s' thingy did i makan today - had authentic Italian and Mexican food with Sangrias (red wine with fruits in it, served chilled), and PIMM's with lemonade (so quenching!). Hahaha... We have wine with almost every meal here. Auntie disapproves, apparently ;p

AUNT, BOOKS and NEPAL

Friday, September 16, 2005

Woohoohoo~~~ Finally exams over! I have been in Singapore Maritime Academy for a semester already. Still loving it, as always! Hehe... Sch's been great (except for some ppl who shall stay anonymous!) Man am i gonna miss my uniform... No sch for 6 wks. 2nd semester starts on 31st Oct. Haiz... Sian!!!

Anyway, went out with my 'lao ke ai' aunty today and had a great time. After brunch, we went to the Singapore Buddhist Lodge (Ju Shi Lin) and felt 'cleansed' again... Sigh... There were many books at one corner and i told my aunt tat i wanna be a good Buddhist so i went abt choosing some books. Got like 5 i wanted but decided on 3. Start slowly first mah... Wah! Lao ke ai had so many sutras stacked on her arm... Scholar sia she... Hehe... This man (eh... he's a bit slower than ppl) came and talked to me whilst i was waiting for lao ke ai to pick her books. Tried to ustd him but failed miserably so just smiled and nodded. When we were on e way out, he caught up with me and passed me this book. He said smthg albeit unclearly, "You're my best fren. I want you to have this." I was so touched.

Passed by e meditation hall and recalled learning meditation under Brother Yick. Haiz... Should be learning Dhamma during class but once i wasn't paying attention. Tat occasion, 2 Nepalese guys joined e class. And god! I had this rush of sensations when i saw one of them. Very deja-vous feeling. Like i've seen him before. And he looked at me like in e same way. Then again, Buddhists believe in reincarnation. Who knows? Maybe in my previous lives we knew each other? God! Or maybe, simply put it - He's cute. And i like him. E thing which pissed me off was tat i could've known him. I mean i d/n attend e next lesson (coz got Band Graduation) but he did, Brother Yick told me later tat he asked abt me... Damn! I should've gone for tat class!!!

Now, i just wish tat whatever cosmic energy out there, if it's possible, i wanna see him again...

PULAU HANTU - SP@DOVER

Tuesday, August 02, 2005

Today very slack sia... Haha... At Poly Marina, e lecturers all said we had to set off to Pulau Hantu at 0830 but we went around 0915. Haiz... Men! Only 15 turned up and Diana tat gal never come. Hmph... Anyway, 5 of us (Aliff, Henry, Jeremy, Nizam and i) went on the powerboat coz SP@Dover couldn't take all 19 of us (plus Sirs). Woohoo~ Took half e time of SP@Dover to reach our destination. So Sir took us on an island tour. LOL...

As we were approaching e lagoon, Sir asked us whether we wanted to swim there and e 5 of us jumped into e water straightaway. Haha... Fun sia... Then later when e rest of e class came (6 on canoe and 4 on the powerboat) e 5 of us tried to dunk them into e water. Nizam and i flipped Ian and Mohan's canoe so many times sia... Wahaha... So naturally, a water fight ensued... Haiz... Not gentlemanly! Then again, we're White Devils mah... Afterwards, we had tug-of-war. Fun sia... I joined two different teams and each time win! Hehe... Then, a canoe race. Not bad lah... Went with Eugene. My group got 2nd. Nvm... Still good...

E scary part was around 11 when e sky started to turn dark. And seriously it was scary sia... I mean e trees were swaying wildly, e sea was choppy, and e horizon was like half a shade of dark and light. Pulau Hantu~~~ So, we had to head back to SP@Dover. Then sia lah! E anchor got stuck!!! Spend so much time trying to remove it but it wouldn't barge! It was already like half past noon. 5 went back on e powerboat. So e rest of us were in e cabin watching TV and eating e snacks we brought. Ian snoozed first, then John, then Roy and Nizam went below to sleep on e bed (hahaha!!!), Mohan, Fad and i went to rest on e deck. E rest were with e Sirs at e wheel.

Sleeping on e deck is so shiok! I mean, it was drizzling abit and e ship was rolling, very lulling sia... Haha... E 3 of us funny sia... My head's on Mohan's hand, Fad's head on mine, and Mohan's on Fad's arm i think. LOLX! 1400 already... Haiz... Snoozed 'til around 1600 and all 10 of us were starving sia... Luckily, e 5 came back with McDonald's and we ate on deck. SSE (Singapore Salvage Engineers) came around 1530 and e skipper's cute! Haha... Spent like 1 1/2 hours to remove e anchor before returning back to Poly Marina. After washing up SP@Dover and clearing all e canoes and oars and e lifejackets, class ended at 6!

Stuck out at sea for like 5 1/2 hours because of an anchor. Good experience though...

NAUTICAL STUDIES

Saturday, June 25, 2005

Sorry world... Nvr blog for like a month... Com got virus! Very screwed up sia... Hahaha... Anyway, been in Singapore Maritime Academy for close to a month now. Totally enjoying myself. And god! Time really does fly when you're having fun. My class is so... eh... fun doesn't exactly describe my point. It's like so much more... ;)

120 ppl wanted DNS at DAE and 80 got shortlisted for e interview. 40 used to be e norm but dunnoe why this year only 20 got selected to be in DNS. 2 gals and 18 guys. So... Diana and i... hehehe... you know lah... have SO MUCH FUN with e guys (and they love teasing us trust me on this.) I'm like e butt of e jokes. But nvm lah... All in e name of fun. Got myself 2 nicknames "Mei Mei" and "Invisible Woman (coz of my height -.-''')"

Tuesdays we gtg to Poly Marina (opp. Singapore Yacht Club) where we get practical lessons at sea. Out on e SP@Dover (SMA's own vessel), powerboat rides, man overboard exercises, jetty jumps, learning abt knots, pyrotechnics, liferaft / lifeboats exercise etc... So, having a blast at e moment. Totally enjoying e time spent with my class. It's so different from secondary sch sia... I mean i felt kinda suffocated in sec sch but now i feel e strangest sense of FREEDOM! Woohoohoo~~~

DNS a.k.a. White Devils, really is THE coolest course in poly sia... I mean, e 20 of us are e only poly students in e whole of Singapore wearing uniform. Wahaha~~~ But e best part of it all, we BOND!
